DJ Ricky spun party music as our individuals arrived in style. There was quite a spread of hors d’ oeuvres’ along with healthy snacks and sandwiches. The room was decorated with big pink and red hearts, streamers, and candies.
We were a little nervous about whether anyone would have the courage to get up on stage and singe karaoke in front of 200 people, but Horace Milburn squashed that fear and was the first to show everybody how it’s done. Not one minute into Horace’s rendition of the Jackson 5’s “ABC” Marvin Mills danced his way up to the stage to help sing back-up! The pair stayed on-stage until they had exhausted the DJ’s Jackson 5 catalogue.

Cassandra Shackleford surprised everyone with her superior dance moves to C+C Music Factory’s “Everybody Dance Now” all while singing on-stage too! Arthur, Diva, and Ronda also took everyone to school on the dance floor- they were out there the entire party only breaking to grab a bite to eat. Nathan Stokes serenaded the room with a Luther Vandross hit and then danced the rest of the day away.
This Valentine’s Day was a big hit with singing, dancing, good food, and friends. The evening was brought to a close with what may have been too many desserts-but we didn’t hear any complaints!
