Forming Local Partnerships
CSC’s Director of Community Relations, Arthur Gold, has recently participated at several Service Learning Fairs. At the fairs at Anne Arundel County and Howard County community colleges, he has met with students who wish to complete their service learning hours at CSC. Those students who come to CSC will complete their hours in the Community Employment Program, assisting with individuals who are working towards community employment. The students provide a valuable resource to CSC, as they complement the work done by CSC staff. Several of the students have done special projects related to their field of studies involving the individuals supported in the program. For some students, this is their first opportunity to interact with individuals with intellectual disabilities, and they learn skills that they will translate into their daily lives. CSC thanks those students who have chosen to work with CSC.

| Exploring for and developing resources to help meet rising volunteer needs of college students takes us into new environments. Working closely with the community colleges around our operations helps us to understand the potential social impact the young generation can have on individuals with disabilities in the community in local areas. We respond to their interests, concerns and identify opportunities to bring them to value their education and social commitment |
