Autism Center

Intensive Individual Support Services
Intensive Individual Support services that are provided by CSC Autism Center for the children that it serves include one-on-one interventions with the child. IISS may be long term and is authorized in the waiver plan of care when the child’s behavior, without this intervention, would require a more restrictive residential setting. The services may be received in the child’s home or a community residential setting that CSC Autism Center operates for the child. No more than 30 hours of IISS may be provided per week to a child. The services are intended to prevent or defuse crises; promote developmental and growth of social skills; provide the child with behavior management skills; give a sense of security and safety to the child; assist the child with maintaining self-sufficiency and impulse control; improve the child’s positive self-expression and interpersonal communication; improve the child’s ability to function and cooperate in the home and community; reverse negative behaviors and attitudes; and foster stabilization.
