CSC proudly presented its Outstanding Individual Award of the Year 2005 to Sadrac, a 26 year old Haitian immigrant with developmental disabilities, at its 13th year celebrations in June 2006.

Sadrac came to the US with his illiterate mother and two sisters many years ago. When he came to CSC in March 1998, he was able to speak only Creole and knew no English. He had few social skills and was easily frustrated. Sadrac has received intense training in language development, social skills and life skills. Today, Sadrac speaks fluent English. He has learned to read at second grade level, has excellent self-support skills and admirable manners and social skills.

Sadrac is a role model when it comes to cleanliness and order. He once required line of sight supervision, but now enjoys some free time at home. He is very eager to become self-sufficient and independent in community living. He is employed through CSC Supported Employment program and earns a paycheck. He is looking forward to better opportunities for improving his skills and getting better jobs.
